WordPress 2.8 Is Available!
Finally, WordPress 2.8 (code name “Baker”) is out! If you logged into your WordPress today you would notice a message saying “WordPress 2.8 is available! Please update now”. Just press one click and you are good to go 
WordPress 2.8 represents a nice fit and finish release for WordPress with improvements to themes, widgets, taxonomies, and overall speed. Some new features that make WordPress 2.8 more powerful are:
- Browse the entire theme directory and install a theme with one click from your WordPress dashboard
- The new CodePress editor which syntax highlighting
- Edit widgets on the fly, have multiple copies of the same widget, drag and drop widgets between sidebars
- The new Screen Options on every page
- and More …
I’ve just updated ThemeLib and got no problem with installed themes and plugins. How about you?

I haven’t heard about any bugs or problems with it, but I’m holding off on downloading it for just a little longer.
I actually not ecstatic about this, I will wait until this version has stabilized

I like the drag and drop functionality. Every upgrade just makes WordPress so much easier to use, and makes publishing quality material to the internet just so much easier for us folks!

Yes I have also upgraded..And found no issues as of now.. But lets see how it performs in the long run..

My beef with WordPress is there is ALWAYS an update requiring immediate attention. They way I usually modify my wordpress sites, it’s a real pain to update. I have stopped altogether…

Much as I’d want to upgrade,I don’t know how. I’m not a techie and I’m afraid I’d screw it up if I’ll do it myself. Also,i noticed that my incoming links have disappeared from my WP dashboard even though Technorati can still detect 25 blog reactions to my site. I have PR3.
I’m on WP 2.6 and would really wish to upgrade to the latest WP 2.8. Any help? I’ll gladly appreciate it.

I love the new updates. 2.7 was already really easy to use, and 2.8 made it even more easier. The drag and drop feature just made it that much easier and simple to work with.
I have not started using 2.8 r8 now. I am w8ing for the 2.8.1 release as I think it would be much better.

These updates to WordPress just excellent. WordPress does not stand still, and it pleases.
I have just switched to WordPress from Blogger. So I got 2.8 readly available… No issues and installed successfully.
