The Formation of the Modern Blogs
Modern blog systems continue to evolve and impress us with each release – new features in WordPress, such as post revisions, tagging, and future-posting have all come within the past year, adding functionality to the platforms that we have come to know and love. Along the lines of Blogger and others, there have also been numerous enhancements, making it easier to connect with others while blogging – a critical element that was previously left out and kept separated from one another.
The lines between the blog and the website have been blurred as more people and businesses want to run their site using a content management system (CMS) to run their entire website, from the blog and forums to the main page. Although it is possible, what is the difference between the website someone creates today and one created fifteen years ago? Not much, looking at the entire picture. Each site consists of the same core elements, despite being more advanced at the current time.
Today’s blog is now the central place to find all the information about yourself, whether you are “on” Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, StumbleUpon, Digg, and every other social networking and/or social bookmarking site available. You are free to post your thoughts, views, and generate content that others want to read (unless your government censors certain viewpoints).
to be continued …

Yea,the viewable differences between a site and a blog is fast decreasing…There are many blogging templates, that will make your blog look like a site.
And with plugins like the shopping cart plugin that was posted on here the other day, you can really blend the two. It’s like a hybrid blog…lol
There were more then a few sites that I realized after looking that “this is a blog!”
Yah, right once nhc. Now there are only slight differences between a blog and website. if themelib.com, whether blog or website? hehe …
Very true, regular sites and blogs are starting to look very much a like, but a big difference lies within, the ability to have a real 2 way conversation with person on the other end and the ease at which you can do that. Also the ability to virally spread blog info…wow.
The new WP has made it even cooler and faster and easier to blog… with the new dashboard, comment platform, and quick postings and edit functions. I love blogging.
Both sites and blogs give people the great opportunity to write about the things we love,to read new stuff as quickly as possible,to get news from different places, discuss varied ideas and share oppinions. That is a gret achievement of our times
The improvements have certainly helped bloggers who are not very tech savvy. With more and more blogs more or less turning into communities, this is a welcome development. I eagerly look forward to your next post/s(?)
you are right about the numerous virtual communities springing up because of the blogging boom.
no doubt eh…it’s been cool to see and be apart of.
Totally agree, blogging evolution is really amazing, and these days the difference is very hard to be noticed. With so many plugins and addons, it’s never been easier to have cms to make site even with blogs.
I think the blogging revolution has just started and with all the changes that happened in the past few years. We will see more and more and more people to be aware of blogging in the future.
These days blogs are catching up with websites.. Sometimes even a blog looks like a website.
yea, blogger has become so much customizable that we have to ask whether it is on blogger or self hosted wordpress!
I just got on the blogging bandwagon, and I can say its much easier today than it was 15 years ago for the average bear to set up a fully functional website…what took weeks or months before to set up, now only takes minutes or days.
Of course, with the modern blog…plug and play!
Not to mention bloggers nowadays are more geeky focusing not just on the writing but also on the technical stuff like SEO and pagerank.
And there are even SEO optimized blogger templates for free!
True…actually I can’t lie, the main reason I got started blogging in the first place was because I believed that I could use it to get better and higher search rankings. I did. But now I use it for both interaction, CMS, SEO, and other stuff.
Yes blogging now has been really brought up to the new level. But in my opinion a blog is way better because whether you have a business or not – interacting with the readers is better- in website you can hardly do that.
But do you think it the online interactions lead people to fewer face to face meetings?
I think blogger has helped people to meet others with the same interest………As to the less face to face meetings,I don’t think so.There are even many blogger group meetings conducted now a days.
hey you have a good blogger tips blog.. i have bookmarked your blog.. also some tips here are not seen any where else.. so good luck…
I think there are still many confuse of blog and websites. In my view, blog will be a better sales page compared to website.
It all depends how professional you want to look. For big companies where a lot of money is involved,a website would be better,as a web site looks more trusty than a blog. For small home made businesses a blog would be better as it increases the interactivity
I think blogging is the most lucrative business online today if done properly.
Yeaah, correct..
So many people have started blogging not only to share their views on the internet but to earn some bucks on the net. But very people are successful in this business as it requires patience and tremendous amount of hard work which most people r not willing to do. For me, its going great wonders.
Also I would like to add that some blogs are so lively that they look like websites. Blogging is even better for newbies because its free..
