I think better is editing source code, It’s waste when we use 1 plugin for only some block. It’s terrible if it create some table or insert somethings in database :p
I think it is better to use the plugin because it manages your ads for you. You wont waste time making sure ads come down when they are supposed to. I currently use the WP125 and its awesome.

OIO Publisher is a great tool, but you have to pay for it. I am using it on my site, and it is a a really awesome tool to monetize your ads by letting users/purchasers control the ads.

Your point is well taken, Ali! The beauty of WordPress and other open source software is that today’s paid for offering will become tomorrows free offering as some enthusiast releases something similar for free. For now the paid for offering might be superior, but not for long, trust me!

I’ve been using OIO to manage all my ads and what sets it apart from the rest is its reporting. Of course, if anyone is on shoestring budget, those free plugins are worthy alternatives.
No doubt many bloggers see by their own experience that WP125 reveals great opportunities of its features including ad rotation and etc.Besides I disagree that free plugins are not good and the paid stuff is the best.

I much prefer to adrotate, I use it on all 27 of my sites. You can use it for 125×125 or any size banners or text ads. The really nice thing is it creates a redirect through your site masking affiliate links from search engines.

Wp 125 is really awesome plugin which I am using for my blog to display 125 ads in two columns.
It’s better than other plugins to show ads on your blog.

Sounds like WP125 is the way to go between the three plugins featured. However, the description on it didn’t mention if it does slideshow options like the other two. Anyone know if it does?

I am currently using WP125 and I agree with it being very easy to use. The only problem I see with it is that it doesn’t track the clicks properly. I think it’s actually counting search engine crawls as clicks.
I’ve also used AdRotate and like it. You can use this plug-in for 125 box ads with a bit of custom tweaking so it’s a great option for the more advanced user.
I’m currently looking into OpenX. Does anyone have any input on it? Before I put my efforts into learning something new I’d love some feedback from OpenX users.
