My opinion is to keep blogging on the same blog for the same type. Don’t have to start a new blog unless we are really prepared and have time to build PR and traffic for it.

I believe as long as the blogs are closely related, but not the exact same, you should have plenty of unique content to ad to each site daily, and they will work together as a network!

I think that blogging takes some time and you have to concentrate on writing if keep your blog updated and I don’t think anyone can have more than 3 blogs with good content. It’s hard to believe

Even if I wanted to which I don’t, I can’t maintain multiple blogs at a time. It will just take too much of my time. So multiple blogs under 1 subject is out of the question.

we are not into the point or subject about PR but rather having multiple blog on the same niche or category. I say no, your article implies about blog network having a different niche and thus yet excel on those.

It would make sense to identify niches in the market that you’re active in and target those niches directly with individual blogs. Optimising for certain keyphrases by URL matching and the like, as well as interlinking possibilities between them makes sense, but filling multiple blogs with quality content could prove top be quite taxing.

Interesting post. I am actually testing this idea this year. Having 2 blogs in the same niche, but with sligthly different “USP’s”. We’ll see how it goes.

It reminds me of the Engadget team, where they have multiple sub blogs relating to mobile phones, HDTV and such, and then they have blogs in other technology related niches. I think it should be alright. It’s more a question of whether or not you will be able to come up with enough content to keep the blogs humming.
