Arthemia magazine blogger template
Arthemia is a free professional magazine style theme designed by Michael Jubel and was converted to Blogger Template by me. Even though Arthemia blogger template doesn’t have middle category bar because of the limit of Blogspot (and/or the limit of my skill), it is still a high quality must-have theme.

Install Arthemia magazine blogger template
Step 1.Change Blog’s logo
Here is the logo link, you should change it to yours
http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll96/themelib/arthemia/logo.png
The size of logo should be about 180×40 pixels
Step 2. Set up the Drop down menu
Press Ctrl+F to find these lines
<ul class='left clearfloat' id='page-bar'>
<li><a expr:href='data:blog.homepageUrl'>Home</a></li>
<li><a href='#'>Menu1</a></li>
<li><a href='#'>Menu2</a></li>
<li><a href='#'>Menu3</a></li>
<li><a href='http://themelib.com'>Theme Lib</a>
<ul class='children'>
<li class='cat-item'><a href='http://themelib.com/about'>About me</a></li>
<li class='cat-item'><a href='http://themelib.com/about'>Contact me</a></li>
<li class='cat-item'><a href='http://themelib.com'>Visit my blog</a></li>
</ul></li>
</ul>
As you can see from the code in bold above, we can create child items (About me, Contact me, Visit my blog) for an item (Theme Lib). You can duplicate these code to create more child items for others.
Note: this drop down menu doesn’t work on Internet Explorer
Step 3. 468×60 banner ad
The code for 468×60 banner ad is below <div class=’banner-ad’>. If you’ve got ads to place in here, then just replace the code. If you don’t have ads to use, you can leave my default ads (yeah, I really appreciate that
).

Hi
I’ve just started using this theme on my site and come across a problem with Meta Robots Tag which stops search engines indexing your web site.
I ran a SEO report once I had my site ready and it threw up a WARNING message which I thought you might like to know about and advise your readers. The Arthemia 2 template adds a couple of META Robots Tag statements which are quite harmful if your site has gone live, because they tell search engines like Google NOT to index your site!!!! Which means, no one will find your website unless these tags are removed.
I have written details of this and how to remove it here:
http://technicalarticles.co.uk/?p=105
Has anyone else come across this problem?
Any help appreciated.
Dan
Maybe you’re wrong because we can’t find any NOFOLLOW and NOINDEX in Arthemia wordpress theme.
Please check your “Privacy Settings” (Dashboard->Settings->Privacy) page and make sure that “I would like my blog to be visible to everyone, including search engines (like Google, Sphere, Technorati) and archivers” option is checked
Btw, I never add NO-FOLLOW and NO-INDEX to any templates lol
Hi nhc1987
I really appreciate your speedy response, and really you’re a GENIUS!!
Its been such a long time ago since I checked my privacy settings in the Dashboard, and so when I read your response, I went to check it straight away and it was set to ‘Block Search Engines but allow normal visitors’.
I’m not sure whether thats a default setting for my WordPress install or whether I set it this way while my site was n’t ready, bit I’d totally forgotten about it. This explains the origins of the NOINDEX & NOFOLLOW insertions, because I could see the template being used everywhere and no-one else seemed to be having the problem.
So thanks very much for your help, its appreciated.
Dan
Hi did you consider my suggestion above?
I appreciated you work but sorry I can’t afford to do that
Thanks for your reply, hope we would have a chance for cooperation.
It’s okay, and I would continue to support your work!

I’m just extending my Arthemia theme and was interested in the Sitemap plug-in.. I installed it, but wanted to add a link to the footer like you’ve done, but I can’t seem to get it to work by just adding a label with the pointer to the sitemap.xml file… am I missing something?
Also liked your ‘Did you miss any of these related posts’ option at the end of your post, is that a Word-press plug-in, would n’t mind details on that also.
Dan
I have no idea with WP Sitemap plugin
I’m using Simple Tags plugin to display related posts.
how do i show “Tags” after a post? It will be easier for my readers to search similar posts.
I answered the same question above http://themelib.com/2008/09/arthemia-magazine-blogger-template/#comment-2052
any ideas on how to get rid of/replace the rotating adsense in top right with a widget? thanks
Currently this section is not widget ready. I’ll try to widgetize it when I update this theme.
thanks. got it.
hope to get the updates soon
master! thank you!!
how do i add post date?
Settings->Formatting–>Date header Format.Change it to
Tuesday,October 07,2008.
Beatiful template! However, there is a problem with the drop down menus after you clicked a label (or a month in the archive menu, etc) – a blogspot box opens at the top of the page, the drop down menu remains transparent to some measure, and becomes inusable. It disappears when you roll over it with the mouse at the point in which it overlaps the blogspot box. Is it possible to fix this?
I am facing the same problem, the dropdown doesnt work once you are in a section. Please let me know how to fix this?

I did a round about by deleting the “show all” box. As I find it kind of redundant.
Search for the below codes
<!–
–>
Remember to backup your codes first. Insert the comment codes ( )like the one show above. So the in between codes will not take effect, yet you may want to retain it for future use.
Oops.. my codes cant be shown. see screen cap instead >> http://img359.imageshack.us/img359/2794/solutionno5.gif
Thanks Kinetic, could not comment the code but deleted it in the end and its all good!
Except the IE dropdown has pushed up the bounce rate… hope we get a solution for this one..

But how come it doesn’t show POST DATE? Possible to unhide it?
I think you might have forgotten to change this….
Go to Settings–>Formatting–>Date Header Format
and change it to
Wednesday,October 08,2008
Hope this helps.
Hi
I did but there’s no date except for time and comments.
If it shows only time, then try changing “Timestamp Format”[in Formatting under Settings”
@YourPCInfo: Thanks for your help. It’s appreciated
@sw: Hmmm … I think you should read this post http://themelib.com/2008/06/how-to-change-timestamp-format-in-blogger/
Oh thanks.
Silly me. I saw the date now.
hmm… how to add popular post widget?
Try feedjit.com… absolutely free! You will get many widgets over there…
Hi, I keep trying to do this and blogger keeps giving me an error message. What should I do? Forgive me, first time trying to do this.
This is the original error msg. I’m getting:
Widgets are about to be deleted
Please confirm that the following widgets should be deleted. All the widgets’ configuration data will be lost.
Followers1
Profile1
Then it just gives me this:

host: http://www.blogger.com
uri: /html
Well,I have received these type of error messages a lot of times. When this type of error happens while switching templates, this is what I do.
First back up[copy] all your widget’s HTML.Then remove all widgets. Some times, you would be having trouble removing 1 or 2 widgets, where you will get error message when ever you attempt to remove them.Leave them for now.Change your template to a template offered by blogger.com[most of the time, the problematic widget will be deleted when changing to templated offerred by blogger.com]
Then, change to the template you want.
Hope,this helps.
Hi..wondering if you might know or can think of a way to replace the banner ad with a rotating image (gif)- not that i do not appreciate your ads of course..just wanted to see if it is possible..thanks for your help..
Of-course that is possible just replace the code wherever you see google ads code. To place rotating picture script just google-it you will surely get..

few questions…
How to get rid of the borders around the recent posts, popular posts and recent comments which are at the bottom of the page.
And also recent posts, popular posts and recent comments appear in white color on my blog, but on your they have green, orange and blue color. How can I make it like this in my blog.
Also, in my blog, tags/labels or date or time stamp do not appear on bottom of posts. The date and time format Tuesday, October 19, 2008.
And finally recent comments and recent posts dont update themselves quickly…they take about a day to appear.
Thanks
Is there a way to stop a widget appearing on all pages. I have a jukebox and I have added it on the top right hand side of the page. Is there a way to make it appear just on the mainpage and not repeat itself on every page.
Thanks
Relating to the above questions, I have managed to remove the border and change the color of the recent posts, recent comments, and popular posts at the bottom of the page.
If you can answer the other questions about tag/label and date and time stamp not appearing on posts.
Recent Comments and Recent Posts take a long time to update themselves.
And how to stop making a jukebox widget appearing on every page other than the main page. (also if you can mention how to centralized the widget, because it is slightly aligned to left and I want it in the middle of the white box in which it appears).
Thanks
