Maggo magazine blogger template
Maggo is an excellent magazine theme original designed by ChiQ Montes. After working for more than 6 hours, I was succeeded in converting it from WordPress Theme to Blogger Template and now it is available for you – Bloggers
The original WordPress theme is not widget ready, but I tried to widgetize it when I converted to Blogger Template. With the amount of effort that went into converting this template and attention to details, I sure hope you appreciate this free amazing new XML Blogger/Blogspot template. An important note for you : make a right decision before deleting any widget because when you re-add them, they will not show correctly !!!

Install Maggo magazine blogger template
Step 1. Blog’s name and Blog’s description
Press Ctrl+F to find these lines
<h1><a expr:href=’data:blog.homepageUrl’>Maggo Mag Theme</a></h1> <h2>Blogger Template by ThemeLib.com</h2>
Change the bold text to anything as you wish
Step 2. Top Navigation bar
Press Ctrl+F to find these lines of code
<div id=’menu’> <ul> <li><a expr:href=’data:blog.homepageUrl’>Home</a></li> <li><a href=’http://blogger.com‘>Blogger</a></li> <li><a href=’http://themelib.com‘>ThemeLib</a></li> </ul> </div>
Change them if you want
Step 3. TimeStamp format
Please read the post How to change timestamp format on Blogger/Blogspot
Step 4. RSS feed and Email Subscription links
To get this section working you’ll first need to have a FeedBurner account. If you don’t already have one, please read the “Manage your feed with Feedburner-RSS feed” and “Manage your feed with Feedburner-Email Subscription” articles and then come back. Another option is to just delete this widget if you’re not interested in knowing your subscriber count or allowing your readers an easy way to subscribe (also lost the Search box).
Once you’ve got your FeedBurner account, you’ll need to edit this template code and replace a few parts. Search your template code for the following lines
<p class=’first’><a href=’http://feeds.feedburner.com/Themelib‘>Subscribe via RSS Feed</a></p> <p class=’second’><a href=’http://feeds.feedburner.com/Themelib‘>Subscribe via Email</a></p>
Replace the text in bold with your FeedBurner address.
Step 5. Recent Posts and Recent Comments widgets
This one is easy to setup since we’ve already written an entire article dedicated to this. Please see “How to Setup Recent Comments and Posts Widgets” to configure these two widgets.
Step 6. 125×125 Ad Boxes Section
Press Ctrl+F to find these lines
<td> <a href=’http://themelib.com’ src=’http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll96/themelib/tl-logo.png’/></a> </td> <td> <a href=’http://wpthemedesigner.com’><img src=’http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll96/themelib/maggo/sponsor.gif’/></a> </td>
This is code for 1×2 ads. You can easily increase to 2×2, 3×2 or more by adding the same code above. If you’ve got ads to place in here, then just paste the code into the template. If you don’t have ads to use, you can either leave our default ads or delete this widget altogether.
Step 6. Google Adsense
There are three good places for you to put up Adsense code. They are : 468×60 banner on header , 120×600 skyscraper ads on the left sidebar, 250×250 square ads on the right sidebar.
The 468×60 head banner ad is hardcoded into the template but will disappear when you add anything to this widget. It’s an HTML widget so you can put the banner ad code straight into this box, a normal html ad or Google Adsense code. This widget can also be deleted if you don’t have a 468 x 60 and you’ll just be left with the default header.

Huh? What is it ? I have just tested it on IE and nothing happened.
Can you try again ?
Btw, here is my sound advice to you: do not browse the web with IE, use Firefox instead!
Here also is all right, I also use firefox, on that error did not understand, it may be some security of the computer too much, who knows
grateful forever!
Ok I dowload it differently … but the problem remain.
Thanks
great theme dude… i will modify and use it for my new blog… will show you the modified theme…
Hi,
I really like your Maggo Mag Theme (blogger). I just downloaded it and applied it to my blog. But, for some reason, there are 2 RSS/Search page elements on my blog now. What should I do to eliminate one of them? I’m new to blogging in general, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Hi Ken, this problem is tricky. I faced it. If you delete one of two widgets, you will lose both of them. You should backup the code of one so that you can add it again later.
Hope this help

Hi Sumit,
This template use fix images for left and right sidebars. If you want to increase the width of sidebars, you must alter a few images first.
@ Sumit:
find something like this in css:
#sidebar {
width: 200px;
margin: 5px:
padding: 5px;
}
or it cud be .sidebar as well
here change the width to watever you want.. it could be like
width:250px;
or
width: 25%;
hope this will help you…

i have trouble, the notes for trouble is “More than one widget was found with id: HTML1. Widget IDs should be unique”
what should i do?
Hi Problogger,
The error means there are 2 widgets (or more) have the same id HTML1. To fix this, you can press Ctrl+F searching for the text “HTML1″. When you found it duplicate, replace one of them with another id, such as “HTML10″, “HTML11″, etc …
Hi,
Cool template, works really great on Firefox but the “SUPER” IE, damm browsers, puts me the float 3rd bar on bottom page….
Can u help me? Don’t know how to work with the new templates without changing to HTML, but i really don’t want to.
Thnks for the attention.
Oh no, IE again. Using FF is my advice
Hi many thanks for the answer, sure I prefer FF and I only use it, but I’m afraid some !”noobs”! still using IE (lol if I had a shotgun lmao). Oky I will put an advertise to all my readers to something like “This page is optimized for Firefox”.
But I still have a question, (ops, sorry) is it possible to change between floating sidebars to fixed?
(^_^)
@Naima : I do not know where the problem is. My demo blog is work fine on IE but your page is not. It’s strange!
ohh lol I found the problem. One of the left widget had some 2 or 3 pixels more lol. While the sidebars are in floating position, when doesn’t fits the browser floats the bar to bottom of page. Creepy IE lol Firefox doesn’t do that.
Terrible sorry to borrow u with this question
No problem. Nice to meet you
if this problem still continues thn i wud suggest set the width in percentage… like left sideber width: 23% content or post width: 50% and right sidebar: 23 %…remaining 2% and % can be used for margins…
great theme! Test it!
Hi i want to increase the width of content section and decrease the size of right side bar can any one help me out….I tried many a times but each time each blocks overlaps each other
Hi Smartin,
This template use fix images for left sidebar, content and right sidebar. If you want to increase/decrease the width of sidebars/content, you must alter their background first.

Is there a way to change the code where the comment bar is below the text of the post instead of above it?
I love this template but would like the comment section to be below the post.
Thanks
I replied you via email.
thank you for your fast reply…
I tried what you suggested and it did not work, is there something that I am doing wrong? Where do you put the code you gave me in the email?
Hi,
Thank you very much for your very useful and helpful tips and templates.
I tried downloading your 3 columns Maggo Magazine Blogger template codes into my Blogger (blogspot) html code but there was an error.
This is the error message: “Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure all XML elements are closed properly.
XML error message: Content is not allowed in prolog.”
Please, I would appreciate so much if you could enlighten me about it.
Again, thank you. I will share and spread your tips and templates.
Cheers!
Dandy
Hi Dandy,
The only thing you need to do is try again later
Hmmm … I must write an article about this issue, though
Hi,
Thank you very much. You’re absolutely right! I tried downloading again and it worked. I am so proud to have your Maggo Magazine Blogger template in my blogspot blog now.
Now, I have a concern about the blog’s name and blog’s description. How can I put a blog description probably about 500 characters? Because I want Google to display relevant ads to my blog and I believe that the blog’s description plays a very important role in displaying relevant ads and in search engine optimization.
Like in the Blogger’s Rounders template that I can put blog’s description to a maximum of 500 characters by going to Settings, then to Basic subtab, then I will just put the blog’s name and blog’s description in the box provided and it will display in the blog page.
I really believe in your kindness and your talents.
Looking forward to your advice.
Grateful,
Dandy
Hi Dandy,
I must say you’re wrong. Google display ads based on meta keywords/content, not your blog’s description.
Add the line below to your blogger template
<meta name='keyword' content='keyword1, keyword2, keyword3' />Hmmm … should I write a post about this ?
i use themelib’s personal mag template for my blog and i absolutely love it. Thanks so much
Love this template! Will I be able to customize the banner and colors?
Also, when I downloaded the files it says to download images first. I am not sure where to do this??? Would this be in the edit Html section or elsewhere??
Thanks for your help
After downloaded the template, please upload all images to your host then replace image links of this template. Thanks.
i love this theme. Can you explain more details about “please upload all images to your host then replace image links of this template” thanks
That means
1. You must create a hosting image account such as http://photobucket.com
2. Upload all images to your photobucket account
3. Press Ctrl+F to find and replace all http://your-link-here with uploaded image links
That’s it.
