How to install a xml blogger template
This post was written to provide a step-by-step guide on how to install a new xml Blogger template for your blog. It is really easy, let’s start
Step 1.
Sign in to your Blogger dashboard then click on the layout link in the Manage section, next to your blog name

Step 2.
Select the “Edit HTML” tab at the top

Step 3.
Before installing the template, remember to backup your old template ! It is always the good practice, really!
First, download the current template using the “Download Full Template” option

Step 4.
Next, upload the downloaded template using the Browse button

Step 5.
Save the changes and you are DONE.
If you are asked “Please confirm that the following widgets should be deleted. All the widgets’ configuration data will be lost“, just Click on CONFIRM & SAVE button (as shown in the screenshot below)

That’s it! Now you have sucessfully installed the xml blogger template in your blog. Start blogging

I don’t understand much your question. We can’t install a wordpress theme for blogger blog
Hey, i think you just downloaded a Wordpress theme, you just can use a WP theme for Blogger. Find a blogger equivalent of the theme. NHC can convert the WP theme to Blogger. Maybe you should ask him for help.
Sorry NHC, I couldnt help that..lol
Found your “Notebook Chaos” layout and I absolutely love it. Problem is, I’m hosting the blog on a different server so that it will point to my domain, and it doesn’t give me the option to upload xml in the edit html window. Cutting and pasting the text of the xml document doesn’t work. Any thoughts on how I might work around this? Do I need to upload the xml doc to my server?
Any help appreciated. Many thanks.

I’m pretty new to blogging and purchased a template. I followed the instructions but when i tried to upload i received this error message:
‘We were unable to save your template
Please correct the error below, and submit your template again.
Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure all XML elements are closed properly.
XML error message: Content is not allowed in prolog.’
What have i done wrong? Please help!

Heya,
I’ve been trying to install the Urban Artist and the Furniture templates.. both are fantastic, but I’ve got a quick qus for you:
a. On the urban blogger temp., the background image of the fence is not showing up, how do i install that?
b. on the furniture template, how do I remove one of the two images in the header?
Would appreciate your help!
Cheers!
I really appreciate this well-written article on how to install a xml template. Great way to explain this.
Well I was checking your First blog post . It seems a quite a good beginning for a blog related with Blogger templates .Btw, there is some methods to back up the widgets when a Blogger template is being changed .
Hi! I have been trying (a lot) to upload the notebook-chaos template to Blogger. I have followed your tutorial and I have saved the file to my desktop and I hit “browse” and click on “master.html” that is within the saved notebook-chaos file on my desktop.
When I hit the upload button, I get the following error message:
We were unable to save your template
Please correct the error below, and submit your template again.
Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure all XML elements are closed properly.
XML error message: The value of attribute “action” associated with an element type “null” must not contain the ‘<’ character.
What am I doing wrong?? Thank you!
i got the same message over and over and then it finally worked—this may have done it but I don’t know….
i saved the zip file to my desktop, but I dragged the XML file within that folder to be on the desktop itself and then uploaded just that file.
it took a few times, i don’t know what made it finally work. i also played around with adding the HTML gadget on blogger…hope it eventually works for you.
My template has mysteriously changed. I have a right sidebar, but now all the stuff that was on the right sidebar is now at the footer…it’s wierd. The HTML code now says that it’s under the footer, too I’m scared to mess with the HTML code.
i installed the notebook xml template, adjusted the timestamp. my only problem is that the date of the old posts disappear when i make a new one. this is really critical for me because this is a diary. i also want to know if time posted can be show instead of date only. thanks
